I got an error in Cumulus, which said to reset the station. I closed Cumulus and disconnected/reconnected the usb cord on my Davis Weatherstation. Although it started taking data again, the rain is too high by 0.42 inches. I read the dayfile and found 0.42 inches added on October 29, but also noticed that all the times for that day were 00.00 - high temp, low temp, everything - there is no other time for that date.
What I would like to do is fix that one day, without losing data from 2010, 2011, 2012 up to that day. Is there a way to make it just start at midnight on Oct 28, and reinventory the data since then? The rain year starts at Oct 1, here, so if needed, I could restart from then.
Thanks,
John

Re: Error in Dayfile
If you haven't started Cumulus more than 10 times since Oct 28th, there will be a backup set of data that you can use to 'rewind' and restart from. Stop Cumulus, find the latest set in the backup folder from before the problem, and copy them into the data folder. As it's now November, you will also need to delete the Nov12log.txt file to avoid duplication. Take a backup of your data folder before you start.
If you're using 1.9.2 and you don't restart Cumulus very often, your latest suitable backup may be some time ago as it only takes them when it starts up. It's possible that the data in your station logger doesn't go back far enough to fill the gap. Version 1.9.3 also takes a backup just after midnight.
If you don't have a suitable backup, you can do the same thing manually by editing the logs back to a suitable point (avoid very close to midnight) and edit the dates and times near the start of today.ini to match.
