Tried FF and that displays fine. Thanks for the suggestion Mark and I should have known to try alternatives first,

Mark, I just checked the URL link I mentioned above with Firefox (16.0.2), Google Chrome (22.0.1229.94), Safari (5.1.2.7534.52.7), Opera (12.50), Lunascape (6.8.0), SRWare Iron (21.0.1200.0) and Internet Explorer (9.0.8112.16421) and the SteelSeries display correctly in all browsers... ;)

Upon checking the internet setting I unclicked Compatibility View and then IE is also fine for me - GREAT. I had hesitated for quite a while to try the SS and was now ready and getting totally (over) prepared. Found that it was much easier than I envisioned - in fact quite simple now that it is done.

Thanks again Mark for making these available and for your assistance.

I have noticed that when mouse-over the gauges the data text shows in the top of the pop up box but the trends charts are not displayed in the main part of the pop up box (red x in IE, and similar issue in Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Opera). The charts do display in Trends. Any suggestion on what I may have missed?

Look in gauges.js you will have set the path to the images directory incorrectly.

Thanks David,
I had not yet changed the paths for 'imgPathURL' nor 'old Gauges' in gauges.js
Now changed them from "images/" to "../images/" and from "/gauges.htm" to "../gauges.htm"
Uploaded the edited gauges.js to the /weather folder where the gauges-ss.htm and other Cumulus files are
The trend .png images are in root /weather/images - http://www.komokaweather.com/weather/images/hum.png

but still the Trend graph images are missing when mouse-over the ss-gauges.
I have tried with IE, FF and other browsers and all show without the graph images

I have also tried with editing gauges.js from "images" to "../weather/images/" and to "weather/images/" without success.
Any further suggestion?

Re: Version 1 or 2 beta - v.2.0 mouse-over trend gauges red

Try this : "/weather/images/" and "/weather/gauges.htm"[/quote]

Thanks Laurent,
I have tried that, and 14 other path combinations including the full path "http://www.komokaweather.com/weather/images/" but none display the trend images with mouse-over. I have now set it back again as "../images/" and possibly the trend images are showing up on other's computer? Or is there perhaps something else I need to change?

Thanks for your help,

I would agree with Mark. Try editing to this and then get someone else to look at it in case you have caching problems.

Thanks again David,
I have tried "images/" and still not correct on my weather computer. I have viewed on another computer and not correct on that as well. Below is a quote from another post you made to another SS user, and could you tell me how I can get the full url path it is looking for on my page similar to what you had determined on that post? If I could determine the path it is trying to use then possible I can determine the correct path to enter.
You also seem to have the trends directory set incorrectly as the mouseover of the gauges is showing the red X instead of the appropriate Cumulus trend graph which indicates the image was not found. The url it is using is http://n-a-c.biz/WS62694/gauges-ss.htm whereas the actual images are in http://n-a-c.biz/WS62694/images/presssm.png (the pressure image) so you have images directory set incorrectly.

Well the way I would determine it is to use a Properties window on one of the icons in the Trends window. In your case clicking on Trends and then right clicking on an the main window and selecting Properties gives http://www.komokaweather.com/weather/images/wind.png which is what I would expect. So your images directory is one directory down (/weather) from your domain home directory. Therefore I would expect gauges.js to have Directory Path to "images" of /images. **Edit However, I have just checked mine and this wrong, see below Edit **

This assumes that you have gauges-ss.htm in the /weather directory which the url indicates you have and the gauges.js in /scripts directory under /weather i.e. http://www.komokaweather.com/weather/scripts/ (can't check that as quite correctly permissions stop me).

realtimegauges.txt is in the correct place (http://www.komokaweather.com/weather/realtimegauges.txt) and so is realtimes.txt and the date and times match so the uploads are working correctly.

On checking your gauges.js against mine you currently have imgPathURL set to "/images/" whereas I have mine set to "images/" and as I have the identical directory structure I suggest you try that.

By the way while investigating your site I noticed you are using a FRAME to display your menus and sub menu content.

Just to let you know these do not always work as you wish because if someone was to enter your site via a URL other than http://www.komokaweather.com/ such as http://www.komokaweather.com/weather/ then all the framing is lost.

Nowadays most people do not use framing because of this and use CSS columnised /divs which ensures that side columns are maintained regardless of where the user enters your site (and before anyone jumps on my case I do know there are other ways to do this, but just giving and example!!).

There are many free examples on the web and here is just one http://www.dynamicdrive.com/style/ but typing in "css menu columns" into google will find lots of others.

You have set the path to "/images/", and the page is correctly looking in "http://www.komokaweather.com/images/" for the images.

I.e. you have specified "images" is off the root of your website - "/" - and that is where the browser is looking.

You "images" folder is a sub-folder of "weather", which is where the gauges HTML page is also located so any of the below should work...

"images/"
"./images/"
"/weather/images"

You have set the just about the only value that will not work. :)
Can you leave it set to "images/" so we can take a look please?

Thanks Mark,
The version I had last uploaded and left overnight was "images/" but you and David both mentioned it showing to be "/images/"

I have now again tried-
"../images/"
"weather/images"
"weather/images/"

and also tried again-
"/images/"
"./images/"

and redid to: "images/" as you requested and will leave it this way for now

The trends images do not show with any of those settings in either IE or Opera (these are the only browers I have used for checking today's editing)

I am presuming that the changes should be effective immediately after I use Filezilla ftp (the remote file does show each of the edited file time - i.e. current uploaded gauges.js file with the "images/" setting is last modified 11:09:51

Anything else I can try or can do for you to check?

I will stay persistent!
