This period

I recently moved my Cumulus file to a second computer with os of xp home. When I go to click on this period I get no information from September or the pervious months too. If I click on from Oct 1 toOct 20 I only get the 15th to show how can I fix this problem or can it.

Thanks so much in advance for reading this and any input that is given to me.

Have you checked the data file for any corrupt entry?

Jim,
I may be wrong but presume the information for This Period comes from the monthly data files. In the This Year view do any of the records show being from before Oct 15? Also what version of Cumulus? Perhaps you can zip Sep12log.txt and Oct12log.txt data files and post so we can have a look.

This Period gets its data from dayfile.txt (it's displaying highs and lows).

Jim and Steve, sorry about my error to presume (I checked the help and wiki but couldn't confirm from that so I assumed  ).

Jim, I did look at your October log file around the 14th and 15th of October and notice that the logging time has changed from 10 min to 1 min at 14/10/12 22:51 and there are 2 entries for 14/10/12 22:50 with with mostly the same data except for - Recent (10-min) high gust and Average wind bearing. Also 14/10/12 23:25 has some data much different (possibly wrong?) compared to the data 1 min earlier and 1 min later.

Hi Paul:
I looked under edit at dayfile.txt and noticed I'm missing alot of days I did click on creat missing data but it only came up with yesterday's info anyway I can place all the missing days. I did attach it for you to have a look if you can and see if I'm correct. Thank you so much for all your help on this.

Your dayfile.txt is completely mangled. It looks like you've edited it with something which has screwed up the dates, e.g. Excel, because they're all out of sequence; or perhaps the file has just been re-ordered by something. If you don't have a backup, you could try sorting it on the date field with something (be careful if you use Excel for that), or deleting all but the last 5 days, which look OK, and then see if Cumulus can approximately recreate the rest.

I still have all the info on my other pc so if I look at it and it's not a dogs breakfast may i overwrite it with out making things worse than what they already are.

I had a go at sorting it, see attached. It seems to have come out OK. There was a spurious entry for 30th Oct 2012, so I deleted it.
