Cumulus ftp's to my website, and wunderground no problem
What happens if you run the twitter test program to fetch the tokens on a PC that is successfully tweeting?
Edir: A thought occurs to me; is the clock set correctly on the PC? A badly incorrect clock will cause Twitter to return the 401 Unauthorised response.
Got 1050 installed and everything is A-OK! I was actually putting off upgrading my 1.9.2 (1032) since everything was working just fine (and didn't want to mess anything up), but all I can say is I am absolutely amazed at how smoothly the upgrade process went! Great job Steve! Took maybe all of 5 minutes to do everything, and Cumulus fired up and ran perfectly without a hitch. My twitter resumed twitting with no problem either (after deleting the degree symbol). Hardest thing was spending a couple more minutes updating my trends page to include the new (to me) solar and daylight graphs.
Still not displaying degree sign for me, just tested it:
1) with a degree sign (wont work)
2) without a degree sign (works)
3) with a degree sign with a space after it (wont work) [tried this as it looks like CrasHBoneS tweet may have worked as it had a space after it]
I wonder why twitter has decided to stop displaying tweets with a degree sign in it, very odd =/
Degree symbols are still failing for me, too. CrashBones, could you zip up your twitter.txt file (to prevent the upload altering the file in any way) and attach it, please?
I think this is something to do with UTF-8 encoding of the message sent to Twitter, and the reason it works for Crashbones is related to his locale settings rather than the contents of his twitter.txt. I have no idea why it worked with the old API but now (for most people) doesn't. I'll see if I can work out what needs to done.
Steve,
Many Thanks for the updated version of Cumulus to fix the Twitter problem.
I went on holiday on the 9th and Twitter decided to make their changes on the 10th.
Typical.
So today I got up at 06:30 (05:30 UK time) in Malta.
Flew back to Liverpool Airport and then driven home only to pull my hair out trying to find out what was wrong.
Eventually checked the forums and what did I find?
Strange thing was it wouldn't initialise as it couldn't seem to talk on the COM port that it used before.
I run Virtual VP and have never had a problem before.
It could be something I've done wrong as I'm a bit tired at the moment so I will have another look tomorrow.
I managed to get it working over TCP/IP, so it isn't a huge problem at the moment.
Just updated to 1.9.3. b1051, reinstalled my original twitter text complete with degree symbol (°) and its working again, whatever you did Steve thanks...
