Maplin N96GY Not Responding!

Post by DemonTraitor »

Every few days my computer (Windows XP) loses "contact" with my N96GY weather station console and I have to pull the batteries to get it going again - which obviously means losing any data that has accumulated since the connection loss.

I know this has happened, as Cumulus no longer gets updates and shows an error , although the weather station is still collecting data, and the sensors are all working fine.

In order to try and not lose any data, I installed Cumulus on my main Windows 7 desktop, copied everything over from the XP machine, to make sure all the data files and ini files were up-to-date, plugged the N96GY in, started Cumulus, but Cumulus hangs while trying to download data.

EasyWeather also reports that it "cannot communicate with the device"

Do I need a new console?

This is getting annoying :/

It sounds like you have the problem described in this thread: https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=7150

No-one seems to know why it happens. It happens with other software too. I finally decided to email Fine Offset about it two weeks ago and so far have had no response. That doesn't surprise me as they have never replied to me in the past either, even though they do seem to reply to some people.
