Apologies if this has been answered before but I cannot find a thread in the archive. I need to correct the last 24hrs rainfall data and knock 30mm or so from the total. I corrected todays data using the edit todays rain option in the edit menu and this seemed to work fine (although I dont understand how the start of day counter works). I then went to yesterdays dayfile to correct yesterdays data but when I did so the displayed value of yesterdays rainfall and this month rainfall on the main screen has not changed. I also tried amending the value in the October logfile in the data folder and this doesnt do anything either.
Could someone give me a tip as to the correct way to do this?
Cheers

Re: Correcting rainfall data
Having changed a daily figure in dayfile.txt, you need to restart Cumulus to get the monthly and annual figures to take account of the change.
Yesterday's rainfall is in today.ini. Edit with Cumulus stopped.

Re: Correcting rainfall data
Thanks, but I did restart Cumulus at the time and while the yearly total changed it made no difference to the monthly total. It is the current months rainfall figure that I cannot correct, I have knocked the 30mm off what is now yesterdays rain and the day befores rain but my monthly total for October still has it included so is 30mm too high. What should I edit?

Re: Correcting rainfall data
At start up, Cumulus adds up the daily rain totals for the current month from dayfile.txt, and then maintains that figure by adding the daily totals while it's running. So if you have a monthly total that's too high at start up, and it's not today's total that's incorrect, then one or more of your daily totals for October in dayfile.txt is too high.
If you can't work out what the problem is, zip up the diags folder and attach it, along with your dayfile.txt, and tell me what your total for October should be at the time of posting.
