Hi there,
For some reason my realtime.txt which is found here: newton-poppleford-weather.co.uk/realtime.txt is s'pose to update every 5 seconds as set in Cumulus but it only updates every 10 seconds.
Can anybody help?
Thanks
Will

It may be taking more than 5 seconds to get the file onto the server. Please do the following:
Turn on ftp logging. Let it run for a couple of minutes, then attach the realtimeftplog.txt file here, and a screen shot of your internet settings screen in Cumulus.

Re: Cumulus realtime.txt set to 5 seconds but only updates e
I've just been having a browse on wxforum.net, which I do from time to time, although I'm not registered there. I see that you asked about this issue on there, and when it was suggested that you ask on here (which would have been the best thing to do in the first place), you replied:
"Well, they never reply on there."
I am completely gobsmacked by that statement. By that outright LIE.
Lets's have a look at your posts:
This first post in this thread: replied to within 5 minutes.

Your post in this thread: https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=6467 replied to within 77 minutes. The thread ends with you being asked for a link to your web site. You didn't reply.
Your post in this thread: https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1495 replied to within 27 minutes, asking for a link to your web site. You didn't reply.
Your posts in this thread: https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=7532, all replied to (by Mark, as they were questions about his gauges) in less than a day.

This post: https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6650 replied to within 15 minutes.
and so on.
Would you like to retract your statement on wxforum.net, and apologise?

Re: Cumulus realtime.txt set to 5 seconds but only updates e
You would have to have a pretty damn quick server to do FTP update in 5 seconds. The client has to login and get a response, upload a file and rename it and then logout.
Also the difference in realtime in weather terms between a 5 second update and a 10 second is extremely marginal and probably a waste of time. Mine is set to the standard 30 seconds and you hardly notice the difference!!
