server, client posibilities

Post by dutchguy »

HI all,

my weather station: Alecto WS4000

My setup: alecto receiver -> netbook -> ftp server for windows gadget and iphone webpage.

cumulus is running on the netbook.
I would like to have cumulus on my main computer and then get the weather data from the netbook.
how do i have to configure cumulus so it gets its data from another cumulus client ?

It's not possible, sorry.

I have Cumulus running on a headless server. When I want to look at Cumulus I use remote desktop; when I want to look at my current data I look at my web site.

Thanks Steve,

Hmm that's a bummer.
Is it possible to point cumulus to a specific folder to get the 'weather data' ?
If so i would make the data folder public on the network and point cumulus to that directory.

I have another question:
I'm very interested in as to how cumulus finds the receiver unit and reads data from it.

It's just not designed that way; it's a single data gatherer, logger and viewer. And most people want to use it that way. Maybe in the future.
