Cumulus not responding correctly?

Post by Grumpy Moose »

I just switched my ISS to a different transmitter. After doing the console setup etc, all the readings appear to be looking normal on my VP2 Console. However, it looks like Cumulus isn't responding correctly. All the readings seem to be stuck or flatlined since the time I put the station back on line.

Is there anything I missed in the setup? I tried shutting down Cumulus (and the PC) and restarting, but that didn't seem to help.

It shouldn't make any difference to Cumulus which channel the ISS is on, as long as the console is receiving the data. I recently switched mine to a different channel temporarily while testing something, and Cumulus carried on reading the data successfully. Are you sure none of the comms settings have changed on the console, e.g. the port speed - it needs to be 19200. If you zip up the diags folder and attach it, I'll take a look.

That's what I don't understand. I didn't touch a thing between Cumulus and the console. In fact I didn't change anything in the console itself either. All I did was put the console in setup mode, tranfer all of the sensors to the new ISS, Set the new ISS to the chanel my console was receiving (and changed the channel on the old ISS so it won't interfere), then took the console out of setup mode. All of the readings seem to be just as before - the wind speed fluctuates just as usual on the console. However if you look at the graphs on my website, all of the readings appear to be stuck. I am stumped.

I'll try to get you a copy of my diag folder when I get back to the PC.

OK, wierd. It looks like the readings just started changing again within the last few minutes. I am here at the office and obviously haven't touched a thing at home. What the heck?!

Presumably the Davis DLL was temporarily unable to read the data from the console for some reason.

There's a short period of a few minutes where it was unable to get the data from the station, but after that it was communicating OK. But presumably it wasn't get any sensor data.
