CumulusRealtime.html - still struggling with 'data loading'

Post by nick.whittaker »

Hello all

Hope someone can help - am using Cumulus (1.9.2 build 1082) which works great and also able to ftp to my website no problem.

I have read the readme.txt on realtime and also followed all the advice on the forum regarding the clientaccesspolicy.xml but continue to have the 'data loading' issue.

web address

http://www.dutton.comxa.com/met/index.htm and http://dutton.comxa.com/met/index.htm

realtime address

http://www.dutton.comxa.com/met/CumulusRealtime.html and http://dutton.comxa.com/met/CumulusRealtime.html

Below is the code I changed in the two files which need to be edited and uploaded. The clientaccesspolicy.xml is in the root of my web site (the lowest level). I have also attached the two files.

Any ideas please?

Thanks

Nick

clientaccesspolicy.xml code

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<access-policy>
<cross-domain-access>
<policy>
<allow-from>
<domain uri="*"/>
</allow-from>
<grant-to>
<resource path="/" include-subpaths="true"/>
</grant-to>
</policy>
</cross-domain-access>
</access-policy>

Here is a fragment of the code in the CumulusRealtime.xml

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<initialisation>
<realtimeURL>http://dutton.comxa.com/met/realtime.txt</realtimeURL>
<sitename>nick weather</sitename>

Re: CumulusRealtime.html - still struggling with 'data loadi

You don't seem to have a realtime.txt file; http://dutton.comxa.com/met/realtime.txt gives 'not found'.

So either you haven't configured the realtime ftp section in the internet settings, or you have misconfigured the 'directory' in the internet settings, or your hosting doesn't allow .txt files to be served.

Thanks Steve

Double checked - the realtime.txt file is there (in the ..\met directory) - and the directory settings look correct in Cumulus as all the files look to be in the correct location - looks like a hosting issue :( - will look there

thanks

Nick...

I have to disagree with you - the 'realtime.txt' file might be in the directory in name but certainly not in size - it appears to be an empty file ... do not just check for the name - also check for the size of the file ... a bit more than 265 bytes.

Thanks Ray

I did check the file size and it is correct - it does contain data - I have done more research. This is a known problem with my free hosting providor - 000webhost.com - they do not allow .txt files to be served. - Am lookig at alternatives.
