w8681

Post by gm0fne »

I have recently changed my computer, win 7 home premium, 64 bit, and downloaded the latest version of cumulus 1.9.2, but when I connect to my w8681 it wont read the stored data. On my old computer also running same OS but with Cumulus ver 1.9.0 I had no problems. I tried the workaround in the wiki help etc, changing the date format but no luck. Any help is appreciated?

Thanks
Tom

Did you copy the data over from the other PC, or is this a completely fresh installation?

Please zip up the diags folder and attach it.

Hi Steve,

At first it was a new install and that didn't work, then I copied over the data folder and as I said no luck. Since my original post I uninstalled cumulus and downloaded and tried again (you never know) but alas still wont copy over the saved data from my w8681.
Diags folder attatched.

Regards

Tom

As far as Cumulus is concerned, it's up to date, so it doesn't need to download the logger data. I can't see any sign in the files of you having copied over the old data; the timestamps in today.ini just carry on from one to the next. If you stop Cumulus and copy over the entire contents of the data folder from the old PC, then it will use the logger data on the next start up to fill in the gap between the end of the old data and the current time.

Steve, just to let you know that my w8681 seems to be working at the moment. I have connected each day for the past 4 days and it is reading the data, but it isn't reading the data for the period of the 9th to the 19th inclusive. So my plan is at the moment to keep connecting to my old computer then at the end of the month copy over the Sept12 log and hopefully this will fill in the missing 10 days.

Regards

Tom

It will never fill in gaps retrospectively, it will only ever catch up from the point when it was last closed down.
