So I need a new console.....

...by the look of things, as the pressure seems to have gone haywire, and is putting me under pressure :( (as enough I havn't enough to worry about in life)

I currently have a Maplins N96GY (Fine Offset W-8681 I believe).

It's 2.5 years old.

Everything works fine, apart from the pressure reading as per this thread: https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=8256

I know Maplins are selling the whole kaboodle for £60 at the mo....but as I don't need the lot just yet, I was hoping to just find a new or second hand console.

Have been scouring Ebay and came across this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WH3080-Replac ... 46004946f0
More info here: http://www.signatrol.com/product/185_we ... power.html

Does anyone know if that would be compatible with my current out door sensors?

If not, does anyone else have any ideas?

Hi Richard,

I hope this answers your question https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=7741

Thanks...I was sort of aware of this potential problem.

So if I did buy second hand, there's no guarantee that the same console will work with my system....so I might as well buy a whole new setup then?

But am guessing that it's just the transmitter and receiver that need to be matched....I can use my old rain gaurge and wind speed/direction apparatus?

Yes you are correct.

having looked at the insides of the console, and the pics on the forum....I may be able to swap the pressure sensor with a known working one from another unit.

Is this do-able?

Hi Richard,

Possibly, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I believe the sensors might be "calibrated" at manufacture (but we are talking FO here) by data in an internal ROM, so I wouldn't rely on the accuracy when replacing temperature or humidity sensors. However, you can at least manually calibrate the "sea level" pressure, but I wonder if the "sensivity", i.e. the scale range, is consistent between sensors?

Cheers, Alan.
