Pressure setting way too low

Post by ironeagleuk »

After getting fed up with AWEKAS complaining about my temperature showing too high a temperature on sunny mornings, I have spent the last couple of days trying to find a suitable location for my sensor in the garden, where it can't get direct sunlight.

Unfortunately now, no matter what I do, my pressure setting seems to be very much affected by lowering it, and putting it in a more sheltered shady area.

Currently the pressure setting is 984.2mb and falling.....it dropped to an all time low of 924mb earlier after I reset the receiver :(

Is it possible I could have knackered the sensor? It was fine before hand, with just a 5mb offset

The pressure sensor is in the console. Having reset the console, did you re-calibrate your relative pressure? It may have lost the setting.

Didn't realise it was in the console.....has been nearly 3 years since I looked at the manual, and don't recall calibrating it.....have downloaded the manual from the Maplins site, and will give it a go.

Thanks Steve

Hi Richard,

Are you by any chance running Cumulus and Easyweather simultaneously. The pressure setting goes haywire if you do that!

With pressures like that you are getting close to cyclone formation here in Australia, not nice when they do form, one good blow and you have lost the house.....

Cheers

Something doesn't seem to be working right.

I set the relative pressure to the local value as per other weather stations (1015mb), and the pressure shot up over the day to 1078mb.

I have just set it again to 1015mb, and now it's gone down to 990mb....

Am I doing something wrong?

The tendancy when I first changed it showed sun, then when the pressure dropped to 990 it went to rain.

Here's the graph from today so you can see where I set it this morning, and how it went up.

Are you restarting Cumulus each time you set the relative pressure? It only picks up changes at start up.

Yes I am....hence the big drop at the end.

It's now down to 980.3 and still falling

I think your pressure sensor must be faulty.
