Ignore La Cross Clock

Hi all.
Hopefully not a REALLY stupid question....

The option to 'Ignore La Crosse Clock' within the station configuration - is this to avoid the problems of the La Crosse weather station losing the correct date and time?
If so, does the date and time therefore come from the PC?

Often when I go away on holiday and return the La Crosse weather station has the incorrect date and time and even if I reset it before starting cumulus I tend to lose quite a lot of data. If I ticked this option would my problems be solved (on the assumption that the PC date and time are correct of course).

Thank you.

Yes, that's right. Rather than reading the timestamp of the latest archive record from the station, it assumes it has a timestamp of "now" according to the PC clock, and then calculates the timestamps of all of the earlier archive records based on that. So it might be a few minutes off from reality, but better than being completely wrong if the station clock has gone bananas.

Excellent, thank you. I have now ticked that option.
