discrepency between Cumulus and console

Post by jerryconn »

I'll preface this post with an apology, I am very much a newbie when it comes to PWS, how they work and use Cumulus as it was recommended by the company I bought my WS from. So if I mis-speak or have missed something please bear with me.

I noticed a couple of days ago that the windspeed (in MPH) being displayed in Cumulus did not match the windspeed on my console, as I began to look closer I notice the barometric pressure was off as well. I have watched it for a couple of days now on and off. At no point do the reading match each other. The temperature always seems to match however.
For example the console my show a wind speed of 1.6MPH and Cumulus will show 3.1MPH. Then it might change to 2.2MPH on Cumulus and still be reading 1.6 on the console. I tried using the calibration screen to bring the windspeeds closer together but it did not seem to work. The readings in Cumulus did not change.
The Barometric PSI will show 29.84 on the console and show 28.77 in Cumulus.
I'm so confused :?: :!:

Jerry,

I had the same two issues.

The two FAQs Steve posted resolved them both.

Please forgive my ignorance but I have the same problem on my wh1080 where the wind speed gage show the gust as the "average" ie ave =3.8 the gust = 12.1 and the gage read 12.1.

I've read the links but just don't get what it's trying to suggest :bash:

Can some explain in lay men's terms how I can get the live wind speed to show on the gage instead of the gust??

Many thanks!

It's in the manual; there's a copy in the wiki if you don't have one: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Fineoffset_manual

"Touch the WIND SPEED section. + and - will be flashing. Touch the + button or - button to shift the display between Wind Average Speed and Gust Speed."
