Dayfile.txt not being uploaded

I have just noticed that my dayfile.txt is failing to upload to the website.
Attached 2 files. "dayfile28072012.txt" that is located on my website and "dayfile15082012.txt" located on the Cumulus computer.
The computer file is all current but the last entry in the website file is 27/7/2012.
Computer has been restarted a few times since 28th July.
Was there a mod around that time that could have affected the standard files uploading of dayfile.txt?
The rest of the website appears OK.

What method are you using to upload the file? Cumulus has no built-in facility specifically for uploading dayfile.txt.

I thought it was a "standard" file. Perhaps I was uploading as additional but there is nothing in the config showing that. Disappeared somehow.
It's been a while since I set that up. I'll just ftp as extra files in Cumulus.
That has fixed it.
Strange that the upload setting disappeared though?

If you include it in the standard files it will be uploaded every x minutes rather than once a day.
I use Cumulus Toolbox to upload mine.

Hi Ray
It's uploading OK now within Cumulus.
It was just strange that it stopped working in the first place.
You know the old story, "Nothing changed in the computer"
Actually, at around that time I did transfer Cumulus to a newer laptop but I can't see how that affected it.
Never mind...all go now.
The extra traffic required to upload as a Cumulus file everytime the other files are uploaded, 5 minutes, shouldn't be a problem but perhaps I'll upload once a day using a different ftp.
Must be a "senior moment" that I can't remember how I was doing it previously.
Just thought of something - look at the old laptop to jolt the memory.

Hi Terry,
If it's working now then fine but you might want to look at Cumulus Toolbox as you can just upload it once a day. The alternative is uploading it around 144 times each 24 hours which seems a bit excessive!

Or you could get Cumulus to do it once a day, as documented here:

You hid that well!

Seems like a better option than using Toolbox.

Looked at the old laptop that was uploading the dayfile.txt. On the files upload page all I have is include standard files and images. No upload of the dayfile mentioned. It's got me fooled, easily done, as to how it was uploading. No other ftp progs running either so it must have been getting it via Cumulus somehow.
A mystery at present.
[edit]
Told you I was having a "Senior" moment. Old laptop was using the sheduleed tasks to upload. Problem solved!

Still having FTP problems.
I get:-
C:\Cumulus\FTP-Data>ftp -a -s:daily.ftp linux11.digiweb.net.nz
Connected to linux11.digiweb.net.nz.
220 (vsFTPd 2.0.5)
User (linux11.digiweb.net.nz:(none)):
331 Please specify the password.
230 Login successful.
ftp> quote pasv
227 Entering Passive Mode (202,174,112,121,52,238)
ftp> cd www/weather/data
250 Directory successfully changed.
ftp> put c:\cumulus\data\dayfile.txt
500 Illegal PORT command.
ftp> bye
221 Goodbye.
C:\Cumulus\FTP-Data>pause
Press any key to continue . . .
I thought the 500 error was to do with not being passive mode but changing to passive does not stop the 500 error.
My daily.ftp file is:-
janterconz
xxxxxxxx
quote pasv
cd www/weather/data
put c:\cumulus\data\dayfile.txt
bye
Batch file is:-
ftp -a -s:daily.ftp linux11.digiweb.net.nz
Using the wiki setup does not work either. Previous XP laptop worked OK.
Seems to be something different in Windows 7?

Terry, you could try...
Super-T wrote:cd www/weather/data
lcd c:\cumulus\data
put dayfile.txt
It may narrow the problem down?

If you're using the built-in Windows ftp command, my understanding is that if you do "quote pasv", that puts the server into passive mode, but the client is still in active mode, and hence issues an illegal PORT command.
I think you need a different ftp client if you want to use passive mode.

Good catch, I'd forgotten the MS client does not support passive mode.

I tried the LCD Mark but no joy.
I notice that when I was using these scripts in XP I was using ftps in the batch file but that doesn't work in W7.
What Steve said about another FTP client reminded me about Moveit Freely that I had loaded in the XP laptop.
Moveit Freely allows more comms options and has fixed the problem.
I'm such a dummy :-/
Batch file
ftps -a -s:daily.ftp
ftp File
open linux11.digiweb.net.nz
janterconz
xxxxxxxxx
cd www/weather/data
put c:\cumulus\data\dayfile.txt
bye
Result
C:\Cumulus\FTP-Data>ftps -a -s:daily.ftp
ftp> 220 (vsFTPd 2.0.5)
Connected to linux11.digiweb.net.nz.
User: 331 Please specify the password.
Password: 230 Login successful.
ftp> 250 Directory successfully changed.
ftp> 227 Entering Passive Mode (202,174,112,121,23,201)
150 Ok to send data.
226 File receive OK.
ftp: 224440 bytes sent in 2.15Seconds 101.80Kbytes/sec.
ftp> 221 Goodbye.
All good....thanks guys.
Perhaps a mention of this in the wiki?
