Changing unit of measure skews data

Steve,

On the barometer unit of measure at least, if I have set on hpa and change to in. My max pressure is now the 1000+ hpa reading.

I understand the ease of recording the actual weather station values in a database. However, for relativity, could the reading be logged as some set unit of measure, say the most common or whatever you might deem as most common and then let the software convert at nessisary for output of graphs, history, max readings and so forth? Otherwise it's really easy to skew all this data.

Yes, there are lots of warnings in Cumulus about not changing the units after you've chosen them, including the screen where you actually choose them. I made the decision way back (without thinking too hard about the consequences) that the data in the log files would be in the user's units, so that the user could use the raw data in the files directly without having to convert them. Big mistake!

Cumulus 2 will log the data in a fixed set of units.
