UV values

hi guys,
i have a question to everybody what use a Fine Offset WH 3080 with Solar,
on my Station the UV values a high, sometimes very high up to 14

you guys what use the same Station WH 3080 how high is your UV values
and have you calibrate them,so i don't no how to calibrate the values on my
Station ,UV is zero and Multiplies is on one.if i see the UV values from
Statens strålevern
is very low with 4.7 . Can somebody explain or help :roll:

Hi,

Yes, I also have seen readings of 14+ here in the UK where the expected maximum is about 7 - 8. I have now stuck some PVC tape above the UV sensor, since I experienced a solar sensor software "crash" (all solar measurements stop until the Pod is reset) as reported by several members in Australia.

IMHO the FO UV data is basically "garbage" because I don't believe that it measures the very narrow band of UVB radiation specified for the "UV index". However, the (official) UV index uses a linear scale, so if you want to attempt to "calibrate" your UV sensor then use a multiplier of about 0.5 within Cumulus.
