Spurious rain reading

Hi, I've been using my WH1080-PC for about three weeks now, and as has been said elsewhere find it to be excellent value for money. I use it in conjunction with Steve's cumulus software, and the whole system functions well. Only puzzle I have, (and other people have commented on this, but as yet do not have an answer), is a spurious rain reading of 720 inches of rain as a single entry at a time in early August(which I've edited out). Could this be caused by one large "chunk" of water hitting the rain gauge, anyone any ideas? Station is set to 1 minute logging. Many thanks etc

That amount all at once is more likely to be an 'electronic' problem rather than a 'mechanical' one, i.e. some kind of interference or data corruption, i.e. the rain counter in the transmitter suddenly increased for no reason.
