I am new to the forum and have searched for an answer to my question but can't find it. Neither Weather Shop or Oregon Scientific are able to help either.
I want to connect my WMR200 to my PC using my home network and not with the supplied USB cable. My PC is located in my garden office some 30m from the house but I want the WMR200 in the house. Is there any way of doing this? OS have suggested using a USB network hub such as a Belkin F5L009 but are unable to say if it will work. If a USB hub could work to connect the WMR200, will I be able to use Cumulus to connect to the USB hub to collect the data?
Has anyone got any ideas?

As long as it appears to Cumulus as if the station is connected to the local PC, and the method of doing that is truly transparent, then it should work. Which isn't much of answer, really. Basically, I don't know. But I'm pretty sure someone did say on the forum that they have connected their weather station successfully using something like the device you've mentioned.

Steve,
Thanks for that answer. I am tempted to buy one to see if it works but am concerned that as you have to set the Com port value in the station settings section of Cumulus this value might be changed by the USB hub if the hub is restarted.
Anyone had experiece with a WMR200 - USB Hub - Cumulus setup?

USB connected stations (and USB connected devices in general) don't have a COM port setting.Smifster wrote:you have to set the Com port value in the station settings section of Cumulus
