Can anyone help me too, please ?

Post by mlj1 »

Hello to everybody there,

I'm afraid I made a big mistake.

Today, I had to replace the fan of my fars iss. While removing the rain collector, the rain bucket moved by the wind and my console (and cumulus as well) detected 0,6 mm of rain with a blue sky over the station.

After re-installing the iss' rain collector, i tried to clear the fake day's rain.

I stopped Cumulus and tried to manually clean the data on the files. Everything worked fine except a 0,6 mm for today rainfall on my main webpage.
Since 0,6 mm was written on the console, I decided to clear everything on the console ! And this is my mistake....

Since then the rain today on my webpage is -256,4 and I don't know how to correct that. Your help would be really appreciated !

And this gives me 2 questions probably discussed before here, but I did not find the answer

1 - Is there a simple procedure to quickly clear the today's rain, if the rain bucket moved accidentaly ?
2 - How does Cumulus work if, for any reason, the station works with a brand new empty console ?

Sorry for my bad level in English. I hope I'll be understood...

Thank uou

Use the built-in editor, on the edit menu. http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#My_sta ... _figure.29

I'd expect it to cope with that; it detects that the rain counter has gone down and adjusts accordingly. For some reason, whatever it was you did seems to have confused it.

Than you Steve.

I tried to change the today's rain to zero using the rain editor, but nothing happened on my web page.
That's the reason why i had to edit manually all the files affected today.

And now, since my webpage is showing -256,4, I try to enter 256,4 to level the today's rain to zero.

No change except i got a rain record . Worse....

I don't understand why the today'srain is -256,4 and how to correct it

the today's rain on the Cumulus screen is 0

I'm sorry to ask for you help to zero the today's rain

Sincerely,

Marcel

Your web page is probably using the wrong web tags.
Météo Saint-Brevin  •  Actuellement_2012-07-31_15-42-21.png
The figure shown for the last 24 hours is probably actually the figure for today. The figure shown for today is probably for the last 24 hours, and you can't easily correct this because the way Cumulus works it out relies on the previous values of the rain counter compared to the current value, and in resetting your counter you have invalidated the previous figures. You'll just need to wait until tomorrow, when the older values are no longer used.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Thank you very much Steve,

I was considering to clear all the data and having to restart Cumulus from scratch, loosing everything since december !

I hope now everything will be correct at midnight.

Below is the part of my indexT.htm file concerning rain, if you want to check if the tags are at the wrong place.

<tr>
<td colspan="4" class="espaceur">Précipitations</td>

You're using 'rain since midnight' for 'rain today', which is not worked out the same way, so it's not the same figure as shown as 'rain today' on the Cumulus main screen. It's dependent on the previous values of the rain counter. It would be better to use <#rfall>, then it will always be the same as the 'rain today' on the Cumulus main screen.
