Can anyone help me please?

Davis Vantage Vue
OS is Windows XP home. SP 2
Cumulus 1.9.2

I have recently had to replace the hard drive on the Eeebox which is used for the weather station. All software, including the operating system were therefore installed afresh.
Unfortunately Cumulus appears not to function. No data is displayed by Cumulus even though the 'Downloading data' window is displayed when Cumulus is started. However, data is displayed by Weatherlink 5.9.3 which I installed only to check the system was working.
The Vantage Vue console is connected via USB to the PC.
Also, the only way to close Cumulus is to Force quit

Any advice would be appreciated.

Do you have Weatherlink connected in 'USB mode', and are you trying to use Cumulus in the same way? That won't work (and WL should have warned you when you selected USB mode that it would stop third-party software working). See http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#How_do ... Cumulus.3F

If you're (correctly) using a virtual serial port, have you definitely configured the correct serial port number in Cumulus, and selected 'serial' for VP Type?

If you believe you have configured everything correctly, please zip up the diags folder and attach it.

May I thank you for your speedy and patient reply. I am pleased to say the software is up and running again.
I think the problem was caused by corrupted drivers. The problem was resolved by completely reinstalling the operating system on the PC. Drastic, I know, but attempts to remove drivers were unsuccessful.
I should also have checked the FAQs more thorougly than I did because this time the serial/usb converter driver was installed from the Weatherlink directory and not downloaded from the from the Weatherlink web site.
The confusing thing is that I do not remember having any problems when setting up the Vantage Vue for the v eery first time.
Once again, thank you, and apologies for wasting your time.
