Rollover issues

Post by nitrx »

I noticed that on some days in july the rollover was recorded 1 minute after midnight (00:01) it has not effect on the totals recorded by Cumulus as far as I know.

I generate graphs with another script and I saw that on some days when there was rainfall the total amount of rainfall over the past day was included in the next day so I had 'too much rain' . This occured for the first time this month I use cumulus v1.9.3 (1042).

Included a copy of the july logdata , I manual edited the rainvalues on 00:01 hour so my graphs are fine now, but I don't understand why this happens now. It is not everyday. The first time it occured was on the night july 8th to 9th.

The rollover doesn't necessarily get logged at 00:00 if the data is from the logger. If that happens when running live, then something else is running at 00:00 which is preventing the rollover code from executing until 00:01. It shouldn't affect the figures significantly, if at all.

If two days' rainfall is being recorded against a single day, then the rollover hasn't taken place correctly, and I'd need to see the diags files to say why that happened (something may have prevented it writing to the files, for example).

As far as I know no other progs are running at 00:00 hours (I ve also disabled the timeupdater from windows in the past, there are no scheduled backups, virusscanners andso-on). The data recorded by cumulus are fine , but another programm that I only run with the monthly logfiles is manually and this is not at midnight. The only programm is cumulustoolbox that does some tasks just after midnight between 00:01 en 00:16 hours.

My diags are not so old I just saw there was an empty one of the 8 of july... I've attached them but I think there is not usefull info in it, again I use the monthlogs in another programm so I think I've to keep an eye on it by myself.

The empty diags file dated 8th July just before midnight is a clue that something went wrong somewhere at about that time, e.g. Cumulus crash, more than one copy running, etc.
