Hello!
I´m having some problems here. I first used Cumulus at a few days ago, and recorded data without stopping from 13/07 @ 12h40 to 14/07 @ 00h05
This morning I set up everything again, but <month><year>.txt file was not being updated anymore. I tried to delete all the files from the 'data' folder but the problem persists, Cumulus is not even creating the file.
I did not changed any station configuration, the only difference is that now I´m not using all the sensors, just the wind and external thermohygrometer. At first I tried to use a RS232-USB converter, thought it could be the problem but it wasn´t!

Re: Monthly log file missing
Is the outdoor temperature sensor the 'main' one, or on an 'extra' channel? If it's the main one, Cumulus should be logging, as it checks for outside temperature and wind sensor working.Alfred E. Newman wrote:I´m not using all the sensors, just the wind and external thermohygrometer.
The FAQ mentioned in the article Paul linked to is here: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#Cumulu ... eb_uploads

Re: Monthly log file missing
Thanks folks!!
Yes Steve, it is the main one. After turning the internal sensor everything came back to normal.
I wont need internal temperature and humidity data for my 1-year project, the pressure is also not a must and the rain sensor is absolutely pointless. I tought I could leave they off, but it´s ok.

Re: Monthly log file missing
Hi folks,
Thought I would use this topic rather than start a new but similar one.
I have just had a major computer failure and lost the majority of my monthly log files. Is there any way in which I can re-generate them from the dayfile.txt? I require them to re-instate the average wind speed and direction for the NOAA reports.
Kind regards,

Me too. Here's hoping my backups work or there will be no more Cumulusscramblers wrote:I have just had a major computer failure
There's not enough information in dayfile.txt to generate the monthly logs. You could obtain the daily average wind speed from the wind run (just divide by 24 hours), and the average wind direction is in dayfile.txt. So you could create a dummy entry for each day with those values in. I can't remember if the NOAA report code does take the average direction from dayfile.txt or from the monthly log file, and I won't be able to look at the code until my PC is back up and (hopefully) restored.and lost the majority of my monthly log files. Is there any way in which I can re-generate them from the dayfile.txt?
