Ho
Just back from a fortnight away. Happy to report Cumulus worked very well while away without any need to do anything !!
Unfortunately this cant be said for Weatherlink - it has stopped working several days ago and now refuses to download the data and gets jammed on downloading 513 out of 513, any thoughts on how to stop this.
Have tried removing power and batteries from Davis Console and reboots of computer to no avail
Using Cumulus/Weatherlink via virtual VP
vp2 CONSOLE
thanks

I think I've seen this before, and resetting the console should have fixed it. Try removing the power again but leaving it for 10 minutes before powering up again.

Sorry, I missed the fact that you're using Virtual VP, so it's nothing to do with the console. VVP will still have the archive data so WL will still be trying to download it. I don't know how you clear the archive data from VVP.

Strange that Cumulus still works though if it was Virtual VP ?
Will have a look at Virtual VP (without breaking it hopefully)
tks
Quick look - cant find anysort of database to clear ?
Another Update - been fiddling on for a few hours now !. I decided to delete the weatherlink database for July. As soon as I did this it downloaded all the 513 entries and is working fine. I have lost thought 1-13th July data. I backed up the .wlk file beforehand but not sure now how to combine the two as the .wlk file wont open. If I could convert to a spreadsheet I may be able to sort it ? - I think the error has been with weatherlink and not Virtual VP

Paul, as reported many times, the WeatherLink software was never designed (or poorly designed) to be used with other weather software - the WeatherLink software wants (and needs) full and complete access to the console where it is getting its data from.
Over the years, I have found the WeatherLink software to be unreliable at best...
On my development computer, I use Virtual VP (version 1.2.5.74) to collect the data from my Vantage Pro2 console. Connected to Virtual VP are Cumulus, VWS and Weather Display - those 3 software can reliably share the data (for days) from the console without problem. Adding the WeatherLink software to Virtual VP and within hours no data is available to any of the software!
It appears from comments I have read in other weather forums that the only way for the WeatherLink software to be reliable is to give it full and complete (not shared) access to a console...

From what I found via Google, it would appear that this problem does happen to people just using WL straight to the console, yes.

Does appear strange that I have been successfully using weatherlink and virtual VP for many years without experiencing this problem, go away on holiday and it fails. perhaps my computer fell asleep to much ?
Anyway, its back working but missing a huge chunk of data, as above if anyone knows how to re-instate the data please let me know !
thanks

Tried this Steve but I couldn't get it to work, didnt want to load the fields correctly ? I,m sure several years ago you manage to convert a wlk to a spreadsheet file for me. Would you like to have another go or try this programme if I send you my wlk file ? cheers

I don't have anything which can read a .wlk file, and I don't remember ever writing anything. Your best bet is to contact the author of this software.
