During a particularly heavy thunderstorm this evening, I have lost sensor contact with my outdoor sensors, is there a way I can regain contact with my sensors?

Have you tried resetting the receiver?..ie removing the batteries

Nice to see another Kentish weather station there were quite a few rumbles out there today

Reset the receiver but no joy, will leaving running overnight to see if it regains the signal.

Have you try replacing the batteries in the receiver. I have found with my La Crosse unit (not the same type as yours) that it would get lost connection more often before finally not being able to pick up signals as the battery strength decreases over time.

Changed batteries in the receiver and the transmitter but no change - the little light on the transmitter flashed when I put in the new batteries but to no avail.

I'm holding out hope that it'll fix itself but it's diminishing with every passing hour.

Well, surprise surprise, it's all working again, phew!

Thats some good news, when my unit was failing to pick up the signal at the time that I got it working it was certainly a big relief. I only had the station 7 months when it happened.

I deleted my earlier post on using the metal gas vent cap as a weather shield on my WS 1090. It just attenuates the RF too much to be reliable.

I have had two sensor failures since April on my WS 1090. Both occurred during strong storms. I blamed the first one on a close lightning strike and sent back the sensor for warranty exchange. The second failure was during a storm with blowing rain but no close lightning hits. I think it was moisture in both cases. I dried the sensor under a reading lamp for an hour and it started working later that day and has worked since. I still get some random lost sensor contact errors on Cumulus.

I believe the stock solar shield is inadequate to keep out rain and moisture. I am either going to by the better solar shield or come up with a rain cover from mine. It is already located under my deck but that isn't enough.
