Advice on swapping weather stations

The rainfall sensor on my old Fine offset weather station (WH1080) hasn't worked for some time and one of the cups of the anemometer has also broken off. I had considered purchasing new sensors but Maplin had a good deal on an almost identical weather station recently, so I bought that instead. Has anyone got any advice on the best way to switch the weather stations over so that I preserve the historical data from the old station. Failing this, is there a way to archive the old data folder but still be able to refer to it with Cumulus if required?
Some questions:
Should I use Easyweather to set the relative pressure on the new station to match old?
How do I ensure I get a continuous data set without duplicate records? My new station has been running for a while but hasn't been connected to the computer yet.

You can just switch to the new station with the old installation; Cumulus won't be able to tell the difference anyway. It will attempt to download data from the new station to fill the gap since it last ran, it won't duplicate. The only possible issue is that the rain counter will likely be different, so you may just have to clean up the rain total for one day; but it may just cope anyway.
You can set the relative pressure on the console, you don't need to use EW.

Hi,
It depends when you last downloaded data from the "old" station and whether you want to attempt to recover any data already recoded on the "new" unit. It will not be easy to merge the "better" data from each station, so the simplest procedure is likely to be:
Adjust the relative pressure and then clear the memory* on the new unit - these can both be done either with Easyweather or directly on the Console (with rather a lot of "button pushing"). Maybe also adjust the logging interval using Easyweather or Steve's separate utility.
Then simply connect the new station and run Cumulus as before. It should append the new data to the old logs, leaving a gap between disconnection of the old station and connection of the new. Presumably the station settings will be the same but you might want to adjust the calibration settings within Cumulus. There may be a "glitch" on the rain records (because the system uses an accumulating "counter" that will be different on the new station) which can be Edited within Cumulus.
* EDIT: Don't do this if you do want to attempt to keep any of the data already recorded on the new station.
Cheers, Alan.

It worked just fine, thanks very much. Decided to go with clearing the memory on the new station, even though it had a record of all that recent rain, I'm sure there will be more!
