Settings for WMR200 / sunshine hours not display

Post by OliII »

Hi, after using Cumulus from march 2012 with my old Lacrosse WS2308 and getting many errors from my station, i'll now "upgrade" my weather station with a brand new OS WMR200 and an extra sensor (UV) package.

This upgrade comming with an dedicated PC for WMR200 and Cumulus.

And there's the questions
What are the best settings for WMR200 with an extra sensor (UV) for Cumulus software ? Log interval, check boxes into Station menu, etc..
What's the "Use B/L" check box into the Station settings ? Do i must check this ?
And finally, i want to know if i must change the annual rainfall fields ? I want to keep the old datas from other PC / Weatherstation.

I've downloaded the latest beta version of Cumulus (1.9.3 1041) into the new PC.

Thx ;)

You can use the same settings as before, except the station type, of course. I can't think of anything else that you would need to change.

It's described in the help, like all of the settings. It's for a Blake/Larsen sun recorder.

You can just carry on using the same data.

A couple of tips I've thought of:

You might find when you first switch that the figure for today's rain isn't correct. You can change it using the built-in editor.

And don't forget that with a WMR200, you can't 'rewind' to a previous date and time and re-download the data from the logger; once the data is downloaded, the station deletes it.

Sorry, i forget this help file  :bash:
Ok, thanks Steeve for these informations.
I'll test the WMR on another website for one or two days, and when everything is Ok, i'll make the switch on midnight. So, i think that today's rain will be correct (or waiting for a dry day mdr, that's imossible here , we're feeling like early spring..).

It won't make any difference when you do it, or whether it's a dry day, it's the fact that the 'total rain counter' will be different. Cumulus may cope with that automatically, or you may have to adjust.

Ok ok , i've just think about today's rain not other rain datas..
I'll have two days for testing and , if i need, correct all the datas. Some old datas must be corrected, like a -7° at 4pm on 5th may due to issues of my WS-2308 too old.
Thanks for your help.

Hi ! Some questions about UV sensor and ET display.

- Saturday, we have many sunshine hours, but into the graphs and data, sunshine hours is always at 0,0. What's wrong into my settings ?
StationSettings :

DisplaySettings :

- In my Cumulus Screen, when i close StationSettings or DisplaySettings, Extra UV / Sensor bat will display correct informations (Light, Solar rad and UV).
But, after few seconds, this bar updates for Evapotranspiration, Solar Rad and UV datas.. and i can't calculate Evaportranspiration because this data is provided only by Davis Vantage Pro stations (reading the help file)

Just after settings :

And after few seconds :

Your station only supplies UV, so that's the only figure that is valid. It doesn't matter what the labels are on the other figures, just ignore them. You have no sunshine hours because Cumulus can't calculate sunshine hours from UV data.

Damned.. i was thinking that Cumulus make the calculations with the UV data (when the UV is more than 1 or 4 for example). sorry...
Is there any solution to get sunshine hours into Cumulus ? Another material with usb connection like the rg11 for rain ?

I don't think it's possible to tell whether the sun is shining or not just based on the UV level.

Yes, there is. A Blake-Larsen Sun recorder: http://www.sunrecorder.net/
