Introducing myself

Hi all,

I couldn't find an intro thread, so I thought it a good idea to start one here.

So I'm new to streaming weather data to the net. I've always had an interest in what the weather is doing but this is my first attempt at measuring and recording exactly what happens in my locality. My first (meagre) effort can be found here - http://www.plymouthweather.org and I hope you approve. I guess I'm lucky to live in Plymouth. We stick out on the South West penninsula into the Atlantic and catch any weather that has had time to build going across the sea. It tends to dump fairly readily upon us and that, combined with Dartmoor to our North, means we get some very interesting weather. If you talk to local forecasters, they'll all tell you that this is one of the most difficult places in the UK to forecast the weather - it'll be interesting to see how I cope with it!

Hi,

I'm a newbie as well, so welcome aboard. What type of Camera have you got is it mounted outside or inside because it looks like its behind a glass screen?

Hi Mark,

The camera is a cheapie (unbranded, about £8) until I know what I am doing and can get a decent one and yes, it is behind glass - it is currently looking out of my office window. Again, maybe later I'll get something a little more suitable and mount it outside. Suggestions would be welcome! ;)
