I have received the following error message when installing the Cumulus software 1.9.2.
Unable to execute file:
c:\Cumulus\cumulus.exe
Create Process Failed; code 740
The requested operation requires elevation
This problem started this morning when I logged onto the system and the program froze and did not download any data. I had to go into task manager to get the program to close as I was not able to close it manually. I uninstalled all of the program and folders associated with Cumulus and downloaded the new Cumulus file 1.9.2. Version 0.0.0.0 of 4.34MB. After installing, I got the error message when the program attempted to start up.
I would appreciate any help to get my program and system back up and running.
Thank you.

Re: Error message code 740
Googling suggests that this problem occurs when a program is run from its installer, when the installer wasn't run as an administrator. Cumulus itself does not require to be run as administrator.
Do you still get this error when you start Cumulus by running it from the Start menu?
Uninstalling and reinstalling is unlikely to correct the original problem; it's most likely a problem with your station - Fine Offset stations have a tendency to stop talking to the USB port. If you zip up the diags folder and attach it, I'll see if I can see what the problem is. Or you could just reset your station (remove batteries and USB cable) which will most likely fix the problem (but you will probably lose your overnight data).

Re: Error message code 740
I had to reset the station 3 times before i got it to download data.
Thank you for your assistance.
Since this station (ws-2080) seems to have problems with getting readings, can you recommend one that is more stable that will not cost me an arm and a leg?
Thank you again for the response.
