I have recently had a new hard drive installed by an IT person, since then i have been unable to access my station details.
Before the upgrade I used to right click on the Cumulus icon and then clicked on restore, now when i do this action it ask "Do I want to have an upgrade from an unknown source" also another message pops up and says " Do i want to unpin" I have checked all the questions in FAQ and cannot see anything to help me. Am i missing something any suggestions please.
Brian

I don't know where those messages are coming from, they're not from Cumulus. The icon that Cumulus optionally puts in the task bar is still the same as it's been for some time. Perhaps you have put the Cumulus installer on the task bar? Do you actually have Cumulus running?
I think you'll have to show some screen shots so someone can help.

Brian, more information would be useful.
What do you mean by station details, do you mean the program window but your site seems to be updating.

Hi Matt & Steve,
Thanks for your replies, first I don't know how to do a screen shot, however when I click on the cumulus icon the screen goes dark then a box appears with the title "User account control" then a message :Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computor" the two buttons indicating "Yes or No"
Cheers
Brian

Hi Brian
To do a screenshot. Press PRTSC on your keyboard (or ALT+ PRTSC for just the currrent window). Go into Word and click paste or CTRL V. Right click and save as picture. Then upload it to the forum.
You could also use snipping tool, drag over the area you want to capture, press ENTER, click File Save as and upload to the forum.
That sounds like the Cumulus installer, as if you upgrading.

Information on taking screen shots is in the wiki:

It sounds more and more like you are clicking on an installer, not the running Cumulus icon.

Looks like they've switched you to Windows 7 and you used to use XP? Just accept that, User Account Control is a system to prevent possible malicious attacks when starting applications, or when a program needs administrative access, like Cumulus, to write to the main disk. You can say Yes safely and use Cumulus normally

As for the old data, did you back it up?

Cumulus doesn't need administrative access. This message is
not coming from Cumulus, so advising someone to accept it without knowing what it is, is not good advice.

Hmm, my bad, thought it did because it needs to write to C:\, didn't really recall as I run Cumulus on a XP machine.
