Steve,

I have been given Geoff's FTP login details. Can I temporarily change mine to his and try an update? Would it cause any problems with my own setup?

I decided to try uploading to Geoff's site as a one-off exercise. Whilst my web pages are very different to the standard ones it does at least prove there's no problem in the site accepting data. I was able to view my pages on his server.

The problem appears to be in Cumulus on his PC. I don't recall him saying which version he's running but it might be an idea for Geoff to install the latest beta if he hasn't already done so. http://www.nybbles.co.uk/downloads/beta ... sSetup.exe

I've deleted the files I uploaded so the site is back to where it was before.

Ray...I just noticed in the ftp log file this line:

'17:20:12:903 Uploading J:\Cumulus\web\yesterday.htm to yesterday.htmtmp

I was puzzled with seeing J drive. It may not mean anything but when I first loaded cumulus there was a lot of emphasis on downloading cumulus to the C drive

Regards Kevin

It should be fine there, it's the Program Files hierarchy which causes problems. That's not to say that it isn't relevant, it might be. Hence my question about whether the files are OK on the PC itself.

Geoff,

I'm back at work tomorrow so you need to do a couple of things to work out why the webpages are not being uploaded with data.

Open Explorer and find the Cumulus folder on your J drive. Then open the web subfolder and in there you will see 8 html files. These files are updated by Cumulus every 15 minutes and uploaded to your webserver where they become visible to the wider world.

These files are being uploaded every 15 minutes but because they don't contain any data you just see a blank screen when you visit your website. We need to establish why these files are empty.

So please confirm what version of Cumulus you're running. You can do this by selecting Help - About in Cumulus. You will see a version and build number.

Next, you should download the latest beta available in a link a couple of messages up this discussion. Install that and try updating your webserver again. Make sure Cumulus is not running when you install the latest version.

If you can do that tomorrow then we might have some answers by tomorrow evening or maybe earlier. We're almost there but only you can do this last bit.

Ok will have a look to see if I can get this information for you.

Thanks for all your help the Cumulus version I have on is 1.9.2 build 1032

I have gone into web folder in cumulus and there are eight folders there all with 0kb
index, record, thismonth, thisyear, today, trends, yesterday.

Correction: there will be 16 html files, not 8. But 8 are what is known as Template files. You can identify these as their filenames end with a capital T.

The other 8 files are created by Cumulus from the 8 template files and it's these 8 that should contain data as they're the ones uploaded to your website.

If these 8 have a filesize of 0Kb then that's why you're not seeing any data. Please confirm that folder contains 16 html files including the 8 template files.

Could you zip up the .htm files and attach them here, please? You can zip up the entire web folder and attach that, if it's easier.

Please also zip up the diags folder and attach it.

Please don't install the 1.9.3 beta.

Good to see you got your site working. Well done. :)
If you did not know the 3D graphs can be hard to read, so do consider that, but thats only my opinion, many might like the 3D graphs.

Hi Geoff,

What did you do to get your site updated? Rhetorical question! ;) Glad we got you up and running.

You might want to put a link to your site in your signature.

There was no logical reason why it wouldn't play yesterday Geoff. It had us all beat! But I'm pleased it worked out for you and the thread probably beat the forum record for getting someone online!

Had a quick look at your pages. Your pressure is too low. Probably because you have an altitude of 0 feet. Unless your house is on the beach you probably need to enter an altitude in Cumulus and then check pressure is around 999hPa.

Do you prefer wind speed in meters per second? I can never work out if 3.5 meters per second is windy or not. No probs if that's what you prefer. Just asking. :D
