Hi Ray I have Sent A Sub Domain Reqest for now If that is Excepted will that give me
a web page then with FTP tools in were I can put my weather station.

Hi Geoff,

There is a help section in Cumulus describing what you need to do to get Cumulus files on your website. Have a read through this whilst you're waiting to receive your info from Glovine. http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Simple_Website_setup

If you haven't already done so download and install FileZilla on the PC you'll be using to upload the Cumulus files. It's the best freeware utility for FTPing files to your server. http://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client

What weather station do you have? And will you be using a dedicated PC for uploading weather data? It's always best if you can leave it on 24/7 for uninterrupted uploading of data but I appreciate that isn't always possible.

Hi I have a Wireless Weather Forcaster N96GY, I will Download the program you have suggested
now and await a response from glovine. I will not be useing the pc just for that as being disabled my pc is my life I use it all the time from watching tele to keeping in contact with everyone and my telescope use and stargazing, I will however have just one hard drive that will be used for the weather as i have another just for my stargazing use.

Hi Geoff,

You should select Fine Offset when you configure it in Cumulus if you haven't already done so.

It's not a problem using the PC for other things as well as Cumulus but if you want to make your weather info available 24/7 then think about not shutting it down overnight. You won't be able to put it into standby either otherwise Cumulus won't be able to run.

I'm not sure if Fine Offset stations can upload stored data or not. Maybe someone with one can advise.

Ok I do leave my pc on 24/7 anyway so that is not a problem as I don't sleep much with my disability's I tend to sit in front of the pc for about 20hrs per day.

I have the free Glovine hosting with my site, and I found it to be good.

Hi got my details yesterday from glovine have now got filezilla on my pc but am now stuck again I have done
everything I thought but still no joy when i put Cumulus on it says now processing data and the gree bar go's have way then stops. were do i go from here Glovine have given me a subdomain http://rhylweather.freegovine.com
also FTP DETAILS
FTP Host ftp.ryhlweather.freeglovine.com
Temporrary host 119.252.198.8
user name rhylweat
password ------------

then says please update files to the "public_html"directory

And that is it appart from an email address

all this has done now I keep getting red error dot on cumulus


any advice to get me a little closer to my goal.

Click on the error light and see what the error is.

Have you actually got Cumulus displaying any data from your station yet? If not, it's pointless trying to set up a web site.

You need to upload a few files and fill in your ftp details in the Internet setup screen in Cumulus.

Firstly, your site address is http://www.rhylweather.freeglovine.com not govine.com. Probably just a typo.

If I go to http://www.rhylweather.freeglovine.com/index.htm I would expect to see the Cumulus main page but I just get a 404 - not found. That suggests all the required Cumulus files have not been copied to the public/html directory.

If you open FileZilla and log in you should see something like this on the right hand side of the screen. Can you post a screenshot of what you have there?

Never mind the screenshot. Matt gave you a link to the help on how to upload Cumulus files to your server. Have a read of that. It tells you everything you need to do.

Also, Steve asked if Cumulus is displaying weather data. It needs to be before you upload files to the server.

Yes Cumulus has got all the weather data on it but I have a constent flashing red error light I have followed all i think of the insructions given to me but still no joy in Cumulus station set up isays near the base Easy Weather.dat and has a pic of a folder next to it what shoud I put in that also Glovine have given FTP DETAILS AS FTPHOST.RHYLWEATHER.GLOVINE.COM AND THEN A TEMP HOST 119.252.189.8 Do I use one or both of these in the host name at the top of internet settings on cumulus.

I'm being a real pain tell me if I'm getting on your wick with something that should be so simple ?
