It seems that the request has already been made but not on the forum it seems and has asked for help in the forum to set it up here:
http://www.glovine.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=58
darc did you get any instructions on setting up your site. When I set up mine with Glovine, I received the ftp account info - user name, password and I uploaded the required files.

Hi Geoff,
My gues is that they have replied to you and that the email hs gone into your spam folder. Hopefully you will be able to find it and mark it as either 'Not Spam' or 'Good'. Doing that should then move it into your inbox.
You will most likely have to reply to that email to confirm you are the person making the request. Companies do this to make sure people don't register using someone else's email address.
The site is based in Australia which is 10 hours ahead so currently it's 1am on Sunday out there. But I'm certain there is an email waiting for you to action and until you do that nothing more will happen until Monday morning Oz time.

Don't worry about it Geoff. These things can be frustrating sometimes.
You didn't say if you've checked your spam email folder. Anything there?

That's okay. Perhaps they don't send a confirmation email.
But your forum request has now been answered so you need to respond to that now. Do it quick before they go to bed!

You have Geoff. They have asked you a question in the forum. You need to answer that before anything else can happen.

The domain name would be one you have purchased seperately. For example I purchased
http://www.cheadlehulmeweather.co.uk and that is mine for as long as I keep up the payments. I can register with any webhosting company and use that domain.
A subdomain is one you haven't purchase separately and is added in front of a glovine.com address. You suggested rhylweathernwales so your web address as supplied by Glovine would probably be
http://www.rhylweathernwales.freeglovine.com. You might want to consider making it a bit shorter such as
http://www.rhylweather.freeglovine.com but the choice is yours.
So you should reply to the Glovine response and ask if you can have your chosen subdomain name. They should confirm that quite quickly but as it's now close to midnight in Oz you will probably get a reply tomorrow. Once they agree it they will then send you all the details you need to upload Cumulus files to your website.
The disadvantage of a subdomain name is that it's linked to a webhost and will change if you switch webhosts. By buying a domain name you can keep the same web address irespective of who hosts your website. It's worth thinking about in the future.
Glovine supports FTP otherwise other Cumulus users would not have recommended them.
