Is it possible to have 2 Weather Stations updating the same Website.
I gather I would need to run 2 versions of Cumulas, but would I be able to combine the 2 stations onto one page?
Will I need to get one version updating to /website1/index.htm
And the other updating to /website2/index.htm
And upload all the relevant files,
And then have a /live website/index.htm that pulls the data from. Bits of the other site?
What I would like to do is have one page that I can compare the data from the 2 Stations on?

Re: 2 Stations to One Website
I would do it (and actually kind of do now) using a PHP based site.
Account #1 has one login
Account #2 has another login
Both logins point to separate data areas in the web tree so there is no overlap. possible images etc... not really sending HTML though since that would be static using dynamic loading of the data from the PHP code.
Then the main site (in PHP) reads the data from the two sources and places it where ever you want it to be. How you format it depends on what you are trying to do.
In my case, it is actually the same station, but different weather collection packages (Cumulus and Weather-Display).
The current site is not integrating a lot of it yet, but the upgraded site will elminiate the two current separate sites and have a single combine "weather" site.
Old site: http://www.tnetweather.com (Only WD)
Newer Site: http://cumulus.tnetweather.com (Primarily Cumulus, but is using some of the WD data)....
The new site will be like the current newer site using a wiki back end like it does. All I need is a block of time to set it up.
None of the HTML is uploaded.

Re: 2 Stations to One Website
For the past 5-6 months, I have been using the data produced by two different weather software (Cumulus and Weather Display) - although I only have one Davis Instruments ISS (integrated sensor suite), I have three receiving units, a Vantage Pro2 console, a Vantage Vue console and a Weather Envoy, all connected to different computers - the data is share between the computers through the use of two software, Virtual VP and Super Flexible File Synchronizer.
As stated by Kevin, this can only be accomplished using static templates (web pages), meaning using PHP to load (include) the processed weather tags to memory and replace the template/page tags wherever and whenever needed.
I also use a PHP functions script (where almost all the different PHP functions needed by the templates/pages are located) that reads the near real-time file (such as 'realtime.txt' or 'clientraw.txt', as generated by the weather software) and produces near real-time weather tags - those near real-time weather tags are used whenever a user/viewer first links to my site, thus displaying the most up-to-date weather data - before being sent to the user/viewer browser's cache, the PHP template/page is 'populated' with the latest weather data values (the near real-time data files are generated every 5 seconds).
Only one of my template/page 'actively' uses AJAX/JavaScript to update its data (in near real-time) without any action from the user/viewer - I try to limit my use of client-side JavaScript to the minimum.
But I have a question. I use two different weather software to get different (missing) tags/values from the same weather station. Will you be using two different weather stations, or will you be using two similar weather stations but located at different locations?

Re: 2 Stations to One Website
Thanks for the info guys, I'll have a play around when I get the 2 stations online, and see what I can do.

Re: 2 Stations to One Website
Just to clarify my situation abut more.....
I'm currently using the excellent Cumulas software, which is fed from a OS WRM200.
I've rececently got a Davis VP1, and just awaiting the belfryboy data logger.
Once this arrives, I plan on running 2versions of Cumulas.
1 for the OS Data
1 for the Davis Data.
Ideally I would like a page where I can display realtime (or near realtime) data side by side from both stations.
That way I can have a site that shows 2 humidity gauges, temp wind, etc.
Or at least that is the idea.
I really need to get the data logger before I start playing I guess, but just wonder if it was possible, or the best way to do it.
I'm currently using a Weather Blues template, www.cm2weather.co.uk
But also have started a php SarAtoga php templates, www.cm2weather.co.uk/wxindex.php
Looking at them I think php is going to be the way to go, but just need to experiment and customise a bit more.
Is what I'm after possible to achieve?

Possible to achieve, yes. But you idea of having two of everything does not make much sense to me (and more likely will be quite confusing to your guests/users/viewers)!SJG1976 wrote:Is what I'm after possible to achieve?
I think you should decide on the data from one station, the one that delivers the most reliable data and create your pages using that data.
I would understand the use of two similar (as in the same brand and type, almost identical) weather stations located at different locations (such as one station at 2Km east of your house and the other station as 2Km west of your house) and then using the data from those two stations for comparison purposes.
PHP is the only way to properly manage and use data, certainly easier to write and to debug than AJAX/JavaScript is and will ever be...

Re: 2 Stations to One Website
Well I have received the data logger, and have set up a temporary sub domain, until I can play around a bit more.
Site is very much work in progress, and needs a lot more refinement.
Data can be seen at http://www.vp1.cm2weather.co.uk
