fTP problems

Post by NOTTNICK »

Not sure if anyone has encountered this.
My domain is hosted by UK2.net
The information uploads just fine to their server so I guess I have set it up correctly.
However it is in the 'home' folder. This does not seem to be accessible through the web.
This is not where the web accessible files are, they are in the public section.
If I copy all the files across to the 'public' folder, then I can access all the info through my website but of course the details don't update!
You can see it at www.nickmurphy.org.uk (with an old timestamp)
I guess this is a UK2 problem, but in case it is
1) a Cumulus setting I have missed or
2) that someone else had had this problem and knows the answer
I thought I'd post and see.
Thanks
Nick

Not sure what hosting options you have. In some, you can create a new ftp user and have it homed where you need it to be.

Also, in cumulus, you can set the path that you want the files stored in..

In the Directory box you can put where you want the files placed.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Thanks
I've seen that,
unfortunately it seems to ignore that and default to the original setting.
I'll keep trying.

The usual reason for the specified directory not being used is an incorrectly specified path. The command to change to that directory fails, so the the files get uploaded to the default/home directory instead.
