I've tried to make an app for android (should work on smartphones and tablets) I've only a android 4 (ICS) tablet and could not test it on a smartphone.
Can somebody test it on an adroid phone (I've attached the apk installer in a zip) Notice this app isn't yet availble from Google market place (Google Play) The apk is save but some devices will not install it without extra permissions) it's in the Dutch language thanks for feedback.
Notice it might be better to use local wifi due the used bandwidth.

I'll give it a shot. Where is it getting the info from? Just the realtime.txt file?

It takes info from twitter and a little info from my website and a map from Google maps, I ,m trying to insert data from realtime but don,'t know how to do this atm.

Hmmm... twitter. I would think pulling the text file from the website would give you more info. Not sure what the app can do... language barrier, but it runs.
I've wanted to get into Droid development, but just don't have the time.

Oke thanks for trying it at least you get some info, ofcourse I can add other tags in the twitter output but someting like a realtime display is nicer I agree , I also want to implement a rainradar but I've to go in depth this is all basic including.
Anyway webbased info is almost always availble on an android device if you've a browser so a lot of apps are overkill

That was BTW on an HTC Droid Rezound (GB). Yes, I have a mobile web page which I currently use http://ly.tnet.com/mobile but wanted to dabble with the code.

Re: App for android devices
The site is not standard. It is actually built on top of a wiki system with custom plugins to collect the data.
Most of the data is collected from the realtime.txt file that is uploaded very minute. I use a capture script which creates a realtime.log file which is all the updated realtime.txt files. I can then get what I need from the log.
Some of the scripts are public in my Project page... http://cumulus.tnetweather.com/projects
You can see the collected log file for May: http://cumulus.tnetweather.com/realtime.log
