Back to square One.....

Post by avoorpool »

Steve,

Downloaded beta vesion 1.9.3 and installed. No problem!
However, think I made a huge mistake......
Weather Blues template and all the work / new pages are no longer displayed on the web (just cumulus standard display in .txt format....)
Any ideas of how to get back (unfortunately only a few back ups made from additional html pages....)
Thanks,

Arthur

The Cumulus installer overwrites the 'standard' pages by default. It does ask you whether you want it to do that. Presumably the Weather Blues templates have the same file names as the standard ones, and are installed by replacing the standard files in the Cumulus web folder? If that's the case, then you'll have to install them again, and any changes you might have made to them will have been lost.

Hi Steve,

Figured out my mistake :bash:
Was able to do a windows "install previous version", so html files are now back to 05/30........
Will keep an eye on what to check before I'll do another upgrade :D

Cheers,

Arthur

Once you have disabled 'install standard templates' that option is remembered for future updates. Too late to help now but it may for future updates.

Just like Kevin said, I always do backups before upgrading or doing anything, just in case something happens. Its so easy but will save you a lot of hassle if they are lost, I have found out the hard way.

So far so good....
Site is up and running again with.......Cumulus 1.9.3 (build 1035). (the second upgrade with standard files UN-checked!!!)
Took a few hours, but it's all back to where it was and indeed I incorporated the entire Cumulus and Weather Blues folder into the windows disk-image backup (just finished running :D .)
A good lesson for future upgrades.......

Cheers,
Arthur
