Dominant/Average Wind

Post by Metanges »

Hello,

I have a LaCrosse Station and I (too) often have reading problems.
So I try to create an application to update the records removing the mesure errors and to add missing mesures from the data file created by Heavy Wether software.

I'm trying to recalculate the records and I have a trouble with the dominant wind. How is-it calculated :?:

Is anybody can help me ?

Many thanks

Why do you need to do your own calculation - is the one calculated by Cumulus not suitable? It calculates it by sampling the wind reading once a minute, converting it into a vector with X and Y components, and summing the vectors.

The calculation made by Cumulus is very good for me. :D

My problem is, sometimes, Cumulus can't download stored datas from the LaCrosse station. Some other times, there is peaks in the datas read and available in Cumulus.

So my idea was to suppress or modify the gaps made by peaks, and to retrieve lost datas from le Heavy Weather datas.
Heavy Weather has only a little set of datas available, so I must recalculate the missing datas.

Thank you for your help.
