Just getting my new Maplin N96FY up and running but am missing most of the display from the "Gauges" page.
I have five dials showing but wind speed and direction are not doing anything and I seem to be missing everything else on that page,
Looking at other weather station pages who are using the same station and software everyone else has lots of information that I dont have.
I could really do with some help please, I'm stuck.

Re: Missing Gauges
A link is always useful, but it sounds like you haven't uploaded the required files or created the required directories, as described in the help ("Creating a web site") and the wiki - http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Simple_Website_setup
The 'flash' gauges require the realtime.txt file to be uploaded, so you need to select that option in the internet settings.

Re: Missing Gauges
You don't seem to have a 'dbimages' directory. If you look in the Cumulus webfiles folder, those are the files and directories you need on your web site, exactly as they are in Cumulus. Just copy the entire contents of the webfiles folder to your ftp server. This is all the setup on the web server that is required.

Re: Missing Gauges
I had already done that and have redone it all again, to no avail. I think I must admit defeat. Thanks anyhow.

Re: Missing Gauges
Apparently not, as http://www.sunny-copnor.info/dbimages/humidl.gif for example, gives a '404 not found'.oldbuffer wrote:I had already done that and have redone it all again, to no avail.
What ftp client are you using? With most good graphical clients like filezilla (which is free) it's just case of selecting the contents of the webfiles folder on your PC in one pane, and dragging them over to your ftp server in the other pane, just like copying files and folders on your PC.
Edit: I took a guess and found the file above at http://www.sunny-copnor.info/humidl.gif so you've put the contents of the dbimages folder into the root of your server instead of just uploading the dbimages folder with all of its contents.

Are there any weather stations that I dont need to upload anything to get started?
Thanks for the help.

Re: Missing Gauges
The same procedure is required whatever type of station you have. If you mean is there any other software that doesn't need anything uploaded, then I'm afraid I have no idea.oldbuffer wrote:Are there any weather stations that I dont need to upload anything to get started?
I changed the structure of the files supplied with Cumulus so it was simply a matter of copying the files and folders within the webfiles folder over to the web site. I really don't know how I can make it any easier; it's exactly the same as copying files on your PC using Windows Explorer. Unless the ftp client you're using makes it difficult to do that. I asked you what ftp client you were using but you didn't answer.
All you are missing is to upload the dbimages folder from Cumulus, along with its contents, to your web site. What you have done is to copy the contents without the folder.
Actually, if you send me your ftp login details by private message, I'll do it for you.
