Month log.txt files
Folks
I've noticed that in my c:\cumulus\data folder I have a file called Dec12log.txt along with Dec11log.txt, Jan12log.txt through to May12log.txt
It seems odd to me that I should have 'predicted data' for Dec 2012
Question is - should I have this file if not how can I stop it?
Thanks
Dennis

Re: Month log.txt files
The most likely reason would be that at some point you had a problem with the date setting on your PC (e.g. the Windows 7 bug), or possibly with the date setting on your station. The simplest course of action would be to delete it. You could look at the contents to see if you can work out when the data is really for, but that may not be easy.

Re: Month log.txt files
Hello Steve
Thanks for coming back. I have deleted the file, closed down Cumulus and restarted only to find the Dec12log.txt file has been recreated.
I have done the Win 7 date/time work around too.
The year/date and time are shown as being correct in my Davis Vantage VUE ie today 14.42 14/05 and 2012.
For info here are the contents of the rouge file

Re: Month log.txt files
Your station has some logger entries for dates in Dec 2012. From
VP2: processing logger data entry 2 for 20/12/2012 17:30:00
to
VP2: processing logger data entry 29 for 21/12/2012 07:00:00
So presumably at some point the station clock was set incorrectly.
As you have the Cumulus logger interval set to 1 minute, but your station logger interval set to 30 minutes, then you are hitting the Davis 'feature' where it sends the entire contents of the logger when Cumulus asks for the latest data only, as mentioned in the readme.txt and the FAQ. So every time you start Cumulus, it gets those entries from Dec 2012 given to it again, so it processes them.
I recommend that you set Cumulus and the station to the same interval, and clear the station logger to remove those erroneous entries (changing the station logger interval also clears the memory, as it happens).
Note that you will have some entries in dayfile.txt which need deleting, as well as the Dec12 log file.

Re: Month log.txt files
Steve
Can you help please.
After making sure Cumulus & my data logger now have the same logging interval (1 min) I notice my Diags folder has Cumulus.009 file with loads of FTPRequestDone ftpCwdAsync Errcode = 550
Please see the attached files Cumulus.009 debug.log, ftplog.txt and ftpls.txt
Any idea what's causing this?
The display and Web Site http://www.denniswx.webspace.virginmedia.com/ look ok to me.
Thanks again

After making sure Cumulus & my data logger now have the same logging interval (1 min) I notice my Diags folder has Cumulus.009 file with loads of FTPRequestDone ftpCwdAsync Errcode = 550
Please see the attached files Cumulus.009 debug.log, ftplog.txt and ftpls.txt
Any idea what's causing this?
The display and Web Site http://www.denniswx.webspace.virginmedia.com/ look ok to me.
Thanks again
Dennis

Re: Month log.txt files
You've configured an ftp directory of htdocs, but when Cumulus tries to change to that directory, the ftp server says that it doesn't exist:
12:49:06:084 Changing directory to htdocs
12:49:06:084 FTP Command: CWD htdocs
12:49:06:084 04644050 TriggerDataSent 780
12:49:06:100 FTP Response: 550 htdocs: No such file or directory
12:49:06:100 >|550 htdocs: No such file or directory|
This is because you're already in the htdocs directory when you log in:
12:49:02:028 >|230 User denniswx@virginmedia.com logged in.|
12:49:02:028 ! HighLevelAsync 0
12:49:02:028 ! HighLevelAsync done
12:49:02:028 Getting directory listing
12:49:02:028 FTP Command: PWD
12:49:02:028 04644050 TriggerDataSent 780
12:49:02:059 FTP Response: 257 "/htdocs" is current directory.
You need to leave the ftp directory setting empty.
