Rogue Queries

I have a device requesting a file from my web site approximately 4-5 times every second. The IP address 92.40.6.154 would seem to be on the 3 mobile network.

I have added the IP address to the deny list in Apache, but of course the requests are still coming through to be denied. As I am home hosting on an ADSL link this is 'not a good thing'.

Any ideas how I can block this more effectively?

Filtering at your router would be better than letting it get as far as Apache; I don't think you can do any more than that without intervention from either your ISP or their ISP.

I thought of that after I posted - now done. The requests keep flooding though... at least my web service should be more stable.
