National Geographic Touch Screen

Post by monkey38 »

Hi:

Let me introduce myself I'm Jim Laursen from Melita, MB Canada. My dad passed recently and my mom gave me his National Geographic Touch Screen weather station my question is:

"It says to touch and hold the rain section to reset the rain fall value to 0 fro the 1hr to tital rain fall"[/i] I do what the book says and I still can not reset the rain fall values . Could some 1 beablt to tell me what I am doing wrong.
My second question is with this sytem I have I saw in 1 of the Cumulus files a picture of a Barameter could that be put on the page instead of say the bottom wind direction gauge.

Thank you so much in advance for your help.

Jim Laursen

I hope I'm in the right spot to post this

In my manual, it says you have to press the rain section five times - to step through the settings - and then hold for 3 seconds on the fifth press. Is that what you're doing? Does pressing the rain section have any effect at all; does it beep? Perhaps the touch screen is faulty?

If you mean you want to change the display of Cumulus itself, rather than a web page, you can't do that. If the barometer image you're talking about is the one in the 'webfiles\dbimages' folder, it's used on the 'standard' gauges web page: http://sanday.org.uk/weather/gauges.htm

Hi Steve:

Thank you so much it worked right away clearing my rain totals in my book it just says to hold it in the rain section no word of pressing the screen 5 times. I do not totally understand the second part with the barometer in how you got is it you made a web page up on your own. As not being very computer smart I would have to have it broken down to simple turms to be able to understand how to do a page.
Once again thank you so much for your help with the rain part of it.

You don't need to create any web pages, Cumulus comes with a set of basic pages that work out of the box, like these: http://sanday.org.uk/weather/

Look in the help under 'Creating a web site' and in the wiki here: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Website_setup
