Hello,
About two weeks ago the outside temp gauge of our W-8681 gave a false reading far below the actual temperature and has continued to do so. Does anyone have any ideas about this and is there a solution?
This is my first posting on this site. I have operated the W-8681 for 3 years now. I live on the island of Crete, Greece and in the two house removals to get here I have lost my operating/maintenance instuctions for my weather station. I am wondering if the fine dust and wind conditions here may have some effect on the gauge over the years.
Regards,
Berry

Re: W-8681 Outside Temperature Gauge
Hi,
Are you sure it is only the external temperature? Is the wind direction reported correctly?
The transmitter uses the same A/D converter for temperature and wind direction. If only temperature is faulty then it might be a solder joint or failed thermistor. The thread Photos of the insides.. #3 shows the (blue) thermistor bead, but AFAIK nobody has identified the part number, and it might be calibated in the firmware.
Cheers, Alan.
