Sensor not working

Hi all, I am new to the forum and need some help. I have a wh1080 station that I can't get the wind speed sensor to work on. I have checked the reed switch and that's ok, and so is the cable into the wind direction socket, but not sure what else can fail? I get the wind direction correctly, so there is input from that. I assume it's a 4 wire connection from the wind directions it into the TX unit? 1 pair for each sensor? Any suggestions or help would be very welcome. Thank you
Brian

Hi Brian,

Yes, the anemometer reed switch connects across the middle two contacts. However, I've had problems with the (golden) wire spring contacts inside the RJ11 sockets not making a proper contact with the plug, so that's worth checking. If you have a multimeter, the reed should be pulling about 30uA through the Transmittter's contacts.

Cheers, Alan.

Thanks for the info & help. I assume these golden contacts are adjustable with care? Or is a case of replacing the RJ connector completely ?
Thanks again

Brian

Thanks Alan. It was the pin as you had correctly suggested. It had a small piece of the plastic moulding stopping it making contact. So much for QA when being made.
