Will the latest revision help in the case when restarting Cumulus reports "Port already in use" because the Console is still holdng the port. The old solution is to disconnect the data cable and reset the console and then boot up the pc. Are there any other know solutions without hands-on intervention?

Re: Prevents a crash in the USB
No, because that's nothing to do with USB. Are you getting a crash at start up? Or is it actually the 'noUSB' setting that you're asking about?gwheelo wrote:Will the latest revision help in the case when restarting Cumulus reports "Port already in use" because the Console is still holdng the port.
If you're talking about the problem that I think you're talking about, it occurs because Windows thinks it recognises the station as some other sort of device (I forget what) and attaches itself to it, thus preventing other software connecting.
Or is this some other problem that I'm not aware of?

No - just the same old - "Cannot open Serial Por. Another application may have opened it....." Usually requires a shut down and cable disconnect prior and a station reset prior to reboot and restart cumulus. It is just a pain I have learned to live with. I expect it is the console serial port that is the cause.
