Windows 8

Post by studebaker »

I'm writing this on an "old beater" computer running Windows 8 (beta). This machine is somewhat short on RAM for W7 and certainly W8. Thought I would try running Cumulus on this machine just to see if it is compatible. Others may already have tried this, however I will post a follow up if and when I can get it up and running. Would be interested in hearing if anyone has tried.

Have just downloaded both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the 'Windows 8 Consumer Preview ISO images' - was planning to install it using Windows Virtual PC - but got busy at other things... :|

Please, do report your finds. ;)

I've run it on Windows 8 (32-bit) in VMplayer under windows 7 , Cumulus runs but I couldt connect to the station T think there's no virtual usb-driver availble, anyway I deleted all the Win 8 crap , this Win version isn't made for dekstops I think.

Windows 8 does't use more resources as Win 7 so it should wordk on every capable Win 7 machine.
