Cumulus Support

I saw strange dates for alltime highs and lows in this month and this year cumulus has calculated 0 days for both and the date is to 30 december 1899 ..

The periods in the alltime records are fine

The longest monthly wet/dry counts do go to zero on the 1st of the month, and yes this is inconsistent with the the fact that I chose to not have it reset the counts at the start of the month. There wasn't an obvious fix. It should revert tomorrow.

I have no idea why the dates have gone to zero, though. You say the ones for this year have done the same? What do your [Rain] sections in month.ini and year.ini look like?

Can you zip up the diags folder and attach it, please?

The month.ini and year.ini do contain the same data ergo:

LongestDryPeriod=0
LongestDryPeriodTime=30-12-1899
LongestWetPeriod=0
LongestWetPeriodTime=30-12-1899

I've to say that I deleted the old month.ini and year.ini after I saw he strange data I thought this should fix the errors

Do you mean when you saw the zero values, or the dates as well? Deleting the files would cause the date to go to zero when it recreated the files. But the yearly ones should have been OK anyway. You should have a backup from yesterday still, what do the counts and dates look like in the backup month.ini and year.ini?

Deleting month.ini and year.ini is not a good idea - how did you get the data back, did you get the editors in Cumulus to fetch the data?

I was looking in your diags files for last night's rollover, but it's not there. In cumulus.004 you closed at about 19:39 and the last entry in the log files and today.ini was at 19:30

29-2-2012 19:30:00.319 : Writing today.ini, LastUpdateTime = 29-2-2012 19:30:00 raindaystart = 362,100006103516 rain counter = 362,100006103516

But in the next file, cumulus.005, when you started at 07:38 today, it says the last log entry was at 06:00 today

1-3-2012 07:38:14.306 : Read today file: Date = 1-3-2012, LastUpdateTime = 1-3-2012 6:00:01

Do you know what happened?

Oeps I don't remeber exactly what I did , I recoverded the old month and year.ini from the trashcan

The year.ini has this values
LongestDryPeriod=1
LongestDryPeriodTime=25-2-2012
LongestWetPeriod=3
LongestWetPeriodTime=24-2-2012

I can set this back but I'm almost sure I had a longer wet period in januari this year. My computer had a crash this night and rebooted about the 06:00 but cumulus was started up again about round 07:30 so the time you saw in the diags.

I think I better wait what happens after tonight ? I did nothing recover from the dayfiles the mont.ini and year.ini were created again after starting cumulus.

Ah, yes, it creates the files if they don't exist. But it doesn't automatically do the wet/dry periods, you have to use the editors to extract those from dayfile.txt. But best to wait until tomorrow as the month editor won't have any data to work with for this month.

Indeed I just saw there were no entries for this month ofcourse , I saw the right values are in the dayfile for this year I wait till tommorow thanks for the support.
