Working great from my end too :D Like Paul says just need to configure your location now :D

Question for you Chris as we have the same station, how are you finding the rain collector? Is yours measuring ok?

Hi, thanks for the compliments.....

With regard to the rain gauge as we all know of late there has been very little.... since i got the station i have had rain register twice 2.7 mm and then 0.3 mm. This did appear to be correct... but i did not have any other equipment measure at the time. And actually i was at work on one occasion and in bed on the other! lol...
All i can assume is that it detects rain and gives an approximate measure.... i suppose i could put a measuring jug or something outside tonight as we are forcast rain here in Derbyshire and then compare with the station in the morning??...
Really looking forward to the rain too! ..... ;) sad as this might be..
Anyway is your station playing up?? . I have seen a number of posts to the affect of fine offset type station being a bit on the poor side.

I must admit since getting mine i have been quite pleased with it for the cost (you really cant expect it to be met office standard). I have compared my data to a met station near by (Nottingham - on the wow site) and mine was surprisingly close.

The only problem now is i am really getting the urge to upgrade! my wife would hit the roof if i spent any more on my hobby (obsession she says he he!) - my plan is to wait about a year and if the station has not packed up tell her it has and buy a bit better one 8-)

And finally i must have a look at updating my web site details when i have worked out how to do it!
Cheers to all,

 I've been wanting rain since I got the station. Ive got a measurement of 2.9mm today. Although at the time when it was raining it was saying 0. I changed the settings in cumulus to show mm instead on in and suddenly I had a value of 2.9mm :?

My weather station is fine, not had any issues with it at all. Like you said for the price you dont expect it to be met office standard and for a first weather station I am loving it. I've also enjoyed setting up my website as well, got off to a difficult start but I know what I am doing now.

 Upgrade already.

And finally i must have a look at updating my web site details when i have worked out how to do it!
What website details are you looking at updating?

Liam

Hi Chris.

well done getting it all going. Now the fun (challenge) really starts.

Forget about upgrades to hardware. The FOSH units run great and should last several years, and KISS, keep it stupidly simple :)

How about a 'new' web site, with Cumulus a part of that ?

Have a look at mine here .. http://www.philcdav.webspace.virginmedia.com/

You will see that going to local weather brings up the Cumulus pages.

Its very easy to do.

1. construct the 'main' web site complete with an index.htm page

2. add a Cumulus section, held in a sepearte Folder. All the Cumulus stuff lives in here along with its own index page

There are loads of ready made web designs for free. See my site Computers section for more details.

There is a wealth of info on this Forum and much more on the Web. Search , use the library and ask. :)

Good luck

My mrs is at work today but i have all my three kids here this weekend..(2 are adults now and its an excuse to sample my fine sunday dinner cooking!) lol!... so i will not get much playing done today.
Who said it gets easier when they get older??

Finally had some rain :D 8.7mm to be exact.

Its all about playing around and seeing what works and what doesnt. As Phil said, there are lots of ready made designs available. I use the weather blues template by Météo du Québec. Very easy to set up.

Have fun playing around. Need any help just ask. :D

Just been messing about with a cheap old web cam.....really easy to set up via yawcam and ftp to my site!!
Me and my mrs will be going shopping later.... hopefully i will get hold of a decent little webcam...if not i have seen a few on amazon that i am interested in.....

The one i am using is very cheap and nasty, but it has really made me make my mind up to get one set up me permanently.
I really want an ip type but they can be a bit on the expensive side.... will have to twist the wifey's arm haha!

here's my temp webcam address...

Hi Chris

You have set you pressure on your WOW site to 'pressure at station' and it is adjusting it up to mean sea-level pressure, it needs changing to mean sea-level pressure.
There is a nice feature on the WOW Graphs View / Show Filter page where you can compare your data with other sites or your nearest Met Office site; good for checking pressure but remember official sites could be behind time on there updates so if the pressure is trending fast it may not be exactly the same.
Your Cumulus site pressure looks good at the moment :)

have fun
