Raspberry Pi mini computer £21

My Raspi should be here by the end of June. I'm hoping to develop some kind of version of Cumulus to run on it, for some of the supported weather stations at least.

Ill be looking out for this then

Once I can actually get the station and RPi talking to each other things should move along quite easily, though my goal at this stage is pretty basic. Getting a reliable always on low power feed to the web site enables everything else (pretty much) to be done on-line, or at least in an online (and hence platform independent) environment.

I'll be more than happy to offer help if I can Steve.

Have now gotten a basic weather tweeter running from my Raspberry Pi using Open2300 and some Python. Blog at http://stevewardell.wordpress.com/2012/ ... pberry-pi/

next step it to turn Open2300 output into feeds that are compatible with my Cumulus/ajax web site and the Steel Series Gauges

I have a Pi on order, all paid for, and just waiting for delivery. Since it runs Linux I'll be trying to run my 1-wire Linux software on it with my 1-wire weather station. It may also run G-Weather so I could connect it to the WH 8081 WS. I gather there are some USB problems with the Pi so we'll see.

Just had confirmation that mines all been paid for with a delivery ETA of 2-5 working days.

Mine (ordered on 3rd April from Farnell) is supposedly being despatched this week, after previously being told 'end of June' and then 'first week of July'.

beteljuice, thank yo for the tip and the link - I went on Hardkernel web site to get additional information about the ODROID-X Open Exynos4 Quad Mobile Development Platform - as you indicated, at $129US the ODROID-X is more expensive but, out-of-the-proverbial-box, the ODROID-X is fully functional, more so than the $35US Raspberry Pi.

With a few additional accessories (available on the ODROID-X page) one ends up with a fully functional micro computer running under Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich (or a Linux distros, but with a need for more configuration/optimization for hardware acceleration) ... very nice indeed...

And one can run/used all the applications (lots and lots of them) available from the Android Market...

How do you solve the real time clock lack on the RPi? I can barely recall some hardware clock add in, but I'm not sure.

You have to set the clock at boot up, either manually or using NTP.
